Cummare

The fifth house, affectionately called Casa Cummare, was once the home of “Cummare” Tetta, a master seamstress and dear friend of my grandparents. I remember her fondly, standing at the little gate of her room, adorned with sparkling necklaces, always smiling, and with the lively gaze of someone who truly loved life. Always ready for a chat or to offer tailoring advice, she brought a joyful and contagious energy to the courtyard. Today, the house still holds her gentle and welcoming spirit. It features a living room, a main bedroom with a beautiful carved vaulted ceiling intersected by a star-shaped vault, a smaller bedroom also with a star vault, and a bathroom. It’s a small jewel of elegance and memory, where the art of handmade craftsmanship still lingers in the air.
